What a wonderful vision of God's creation!!! We've been in Michigan for the past week and words can't really tell of the beauty of the area we've been visiting. The brilliant blues of the waters against the white sands is as magnificient as any tropical waters I've seen. And no sharks, jelly fish, seed weed, etc :-)
This whole area along the coastline of upper Michigan is lined with small villages. No McDonald's around here!!
We've enjoyed exploring the scenic drives, walking some wonderful trails through the woods to get to the top of the sand dune bluffs. Sam and Willie love it!!
We've met so many wonderful people from the area and also fellow RV'ers. Getting lots of good suggestions and really enjoying the culture of upper Michigan.
Right now we're at a small RV resort on Lake Leelanua, just a few miles from the coast line of Lake Michigan. You don't have to drive far to be on water! This is the land of lakes and streams. Right now we are also surrounded by vineyards and orchards. There are 25 wineries in the area which we'll be exploring this next week. They say the white wines are wonderful and we're looking forward to trying a Winter White that has become very popular.
Cherry season has just ended but the cherry products are abundant and delicious!! You can find a Farmer's Market also any day of the week in various villages and the peaches have been so tasty!
Burgers seem to be one of specialities with most places grinding their own meat daily. One popular burger is topped with sliced green olives. Haven't tried it yet but plan to before we leave. White fish, perch, walleye are a few of fish from the lakes. Chuck has tried the fried perch sandwich which was good but guess we're spoiled with our gulf fish and fried catfish in Texas!
I'm just getting the hang of blogging so let's see if this works!! Hope so since I really would love to share our pictures and adventures.
